Assist
The
guardian assists the child in all matters where the child needs help.
Unaccompanied children may require assistance in understanding the reception
services in the country of arrival, in finding their ways around in the hosting
community, and in the context of different procedures, decision-making
processes and services. The guardian’s assistance may be decisive to prevent
neglect, violence or exploitation of the child. Special assistance measures may
be required for children who are in a situation of particular vulnerability,
such as children with disabilities, children belonging to a minority group, or children
who are victims of violence or exploitation.
A
guardian assists also the state authorities and service providers in the
identification and implementation of appropriate measures and services for the
child, including a durable solution in accordance with the best interests of
the child.
