Prevention of discrimination
The
right to non-discrimination (Article 2) requires a constant attention to the
individual needs and rights of the child. Preventing discrimination does not
mean to treat all children the same, but to ensure that the responses and
services in place for a child are tailor-made to the child’s individual needs,
situation and background. A non-discriminative approach aims at ensuring that
all children have equal opportunities to enjoy and exercise their rights.
