Accomodation

The guardian is responsible for ensuring the child’s accommodation and living conditions are adequate and appropriate to the child’s needs.

The guardian makes sure that the child is informed about the rights and duties of the personnel and the caretakers in the accommodation facility, and that the child is able to distinguish their roles and responsibilities from those of the guardian.

The guardian informs the child on his or her rights and duties in the accommodation facility and makes sure that the child is aware of those rights and of how to lodge a complaint.

The guardian visits the child in the place where the child is staying verifies that the accommodation and residential care arrangements are adequate for the child’s physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development. If the guardian identifies any concerns, the guardian should report to those providing housing to the child or, where appropriate, notify relevant complaints and reporting mechanisms.
